What do potential Buyer’s look for in a Buyer’s Agent?  Well, having been a Buyer a few times ourselves, we have a few Pointer’s or Tips:

  • Look at Agent Bio’s/Material/Website’s…Do they talk only about how great they are, or do they truly try to Educate, Inform, and add Value?
  • When contacting them, Do they get back to you within a few hours, or do they “never” get back?  Forget about them….early.
  • Do they “ASK” you questions about your needs, wants, and areas of interest or do they just keep talking about themselves…red flag.
  • Ask them what they know about certain areas you have an interest in.  They’ll volunteer information and be a wealth of knowledge if they know the areas well.
  • Ask about their relationship with other Brokerages.  You want an agent that has a good relationship with other Brokerages, trust me.
  • Ask them if they are a member of NAR…the National Association of REALTORS.
  • What is their “process” for showing you homes?
  • How will they be communicating with you?  How frequently?
  • Do they understand you timeframes, or are they in a hurry to “sell” you something?
  • Do they have Buyer Information, Relocation Information, Websites for you to gather information about the Valley or specific area you’re interested in.  If they don’t volunteer these things, look for another agent.
  • Last, but not least…assess how you “felt” about the initial call.  First Impressions are usually right on….trust your GUT!
